God of WaR Ragnarok is the second best-selling physical game release in the UK of 2022

GFK presented the latest physical game sales figures in the UK and revealed that God of War Ragnarok is the second best-selling physical game release of 2022, behind FIFA 23.

The new PlayStation game outsold other heavyweights like Elden Ring, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus in its first week. Nintendo's game has now risen to 3rd place.

Things could change with the inclusion of digital sales, but for now, God of War Ragnarok is the second-best debut of the year. It was also revealed that 82 of the units sold are PS5 and that the console bundle containing the game accounts for 12 of the sales.

It was also revealed that the God of War Ragnarok bundle represents 60 of the PS5 consoles sold in the UK and that it was the best PS5 sales week of 2022.

Sonic Frontiers managed to stay in 4th place with a debut superior to Sonic Forces in 5th place. Among the units sold, 40 of the sales were on PS5, 34 on Switch, 14 on Xbox and 12 on PS4.

Horizon: Forbidden West saw a 141 increase in sales and ranked 7th among several Nintendo Switch titles that also saw increases in sales.
