While not as important as The Recreation Awards, the British Academy Video Recreation Awards (also known as the BAFTAs) are a glitzy show that celebrates the best video games of the last twelve months.

O 18th annual event was held last week (opens in new tab), and it was a very good night for the best PS5 games. Third-person roguelike Returnal topped the pack with nine nominations and ultimately proved to be the big winner with four awards, including the all-important Best Game award. The PS5 exclusive also won Audio Fulfillment, Best Music and Best Artist in a Major Role for Jane Perry (who voices amnesiac astronaut Selene Vassos).

Returnal wasn't the only winner that can only be enjoyed on Sony's next-gen console. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Aside also won two awards: Best Animation and Best Technical Achievement. Additionally, It Takes Two, which is available on PS5 and PS4, won Best Unique Property and Best Multiplayer. The elegant awards ceremony proved that PS5 is now absolutely killing it with an unrivaled lineup of epic exclusives and plenty of must-see third-party hits too.
