Still in the vibe of the Olympics, the Red Bull TV announced this Wednesday (8) the launch of a new film for its on-demand content grid. It's about the documentary “The Curious Story of Italo Ferreira”, a film of less than an hour that tells the story of the trajectory of the first Olympic surfing champion, from his origins, achievements and challenges to reaching his historic medal from a perspective never explored before.

The documentary that narrates the athlete's life trajectory is produced by the co-production of billabong and O2, and it's already available for free, in Portuguese and English, on Red Bull TV (clicking on this link🇧🇷 The film tells the origins of Italo, in Baía Formosa (RN), through testimonials (and narration!) from friends, family and residents of the region, as well as rare images from when he was still a boy.

Italo also says that he got emotional during the recording and waited for the Tokyo Olympics to end to announce the film.

“I am very anxious to see the result and follow the repercussions. And just a curiosity: I asked them to wait to release it because of the Olympics. I was going to make history there, so they would have to add a few more scenes”, says Italo Ferreira.

Evan Slater, global vice president of marketing for Billabong, highlighted the importance of the work for its winning plot.

“There is nothing like Italo's history in surfing. And we are proud to be working with Red Bull and O2 to share this inspiring journey with the world.”
