Update (01/18/2022) – GS

In early December, the Amazon Prime Video announced it was working on an animated series of The Boys, which would serve as a prelude to the main series. At the time, the platform had not yet confirmed the release date, but this week, we finally have more information.

In an official press release, the platform revealed that The Boys Presents: Diabolical will arrive in the catalog on March 4, shortly before the premiere of the third season of the main series.

The series will consist of eight episodes lasting 12 to 14 minutes. Episodes will feature signature animation styles and reveal new stories from the Boys universe brought to life by some of the most creative minds in entertainment today, including Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer and Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland and Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.

Among the many original productions from the numerous streaming platforms currently available on the market, one that stands out is The Boys, an adaptation of the comics created by Garth Ennis, which shows superheroes in an unconventional way and the consequences of their actions.

While many eagerly await the release of the third season of the series, Amazon Prime Video announced this week that it is working on a derivative series, but unlike the main one, the new production will be in animation.

Called The Boys: Diabolical, the eight-episode animation will tell events that were never shown in The Boys, not even in the comics.

The series will have several screenwriters and Eric Kripke will be the main producer, with an animation that promises to be very shocking, exciting and fun, as it should be.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, writers and executive producers, will also be involved in the new series, as well as the main production.

The new series is scheduled to premiere early next year.
