It was recently announced by Amazon that the latest versions of its e-readers will gain a new user interface, with a cleaner appearance. One of the first sites to notice the revelation made by the e-commerce giant was Ars Technica, where it is said that the new update focuses on improvements in navigation between menus, adding a bar at the bottom of the screen to switch between the home screen and the book the user is reading. Some people have already reported that they had access to the news, but the company has now communicated that the update will arrive for everyone in the coming weeks.

One of the changes made in this new firmware available for kindle newer is how the quick settings are accessed. Now just slide your finger up instead of pressing a button.

Which models will support the new update?

According to Amazon, the redesign of the interface of its e-readers will reach:

• Ordinary Kindle 8th generation (or higher)
• Kindle Paperwhite 7th generation (or higher)
• Kindle Oasis (or higher)

In short, the company says that all Kindles released in the year 2015 onwards will receive the new update. However, the best way to know if your Kindle is compatible with the update is to check the model number. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Select the 3 lines (or dots) at the top right of the screen.
• Click on the “Settings” button
• Select “Device Options”
• Click on “Device Information”
